Cobra MIA

The VHS I ordered from MOVIESUNLIMITED never arrived. I was so looking forward to watching that movie last weekend. Last Friday I saw the DVD up at ebay. I didn't know what to do. I rather have the DVD but the VHS was on the way and I couldn't really afford at the time to buy both (not without feeling somewhat guilty). I decided to wait for the VHS (thinking it would for certain show up in Saturday's mail), knowing if I ordered the ebay DVD and the VHS got here first, I would have torn it open in a second to watch Rudy! But it didn't show up and then on Monday I checked ebay and the DVD Cobra was gone. But then I checked ebay on Tuesday (always being on the look out for Rudy items (esp. new photos that I can take a look at and I have found many new ones there) and saw that the Cobra DVD was back! I called Moviesunlimited talked to the nicest raspy voiced lady who canceled the order and then I ordered the DVD. So, I should have the DVD within a week. I really need some new Rudy material. I was without Internet access (at home and I rarely "play" at work anymore) and that was difficult. The internet is really good to us Rudy fans. I was thinking about this last night, that maybe the interest in Rudy will grow again, now that there is so much fresh material so easily accessible out there about him.

When I first heard of Rudolph Valentino, it was in the same breath that women killed themselves over him when he died. It was in my early teens I believe and I remember thinking what kind of person could make another person (who they have never met before kill themselves over). It seemed so occult and bewitching, like a spell, like something out of a fairy tale. I was intrigued then. Who knew so many years later in my life I would finally understand and grasp the nature of such an entity as Rudolph Valentino. And even now as I write this I try to take in account what it is about him that was so powerful ---- I think it comes down to how utterly sweet and vunerable he was. So, open with his heart and trusting --- in this world so full of jaded and selfish creatures, that courage or just plain innocense stirs something so deep inside it is beyond a human feeling but something of a spiritual nature that is for lack of a more accepting word, 'heavenly'.
